“Radiology, also sometimes called diagnostic imaging, is a branch of medical specialty that uses X-rays and other forms of waves and radiation to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases and abnormalities. In all of these, the goal is to diagnose diseases or abnormalities in the body using advanced imaging techniques. Radiology is derived from the Latin word Radius meaning radiation. Radiology encompasses many fields based on the use of ionizing radiation for diagnosing diseases or treating them.”
